It seems that there is mass confusion in France regarding the future of Nicolas Pépé, Angers’ exciting forward. The player, who was apparently the subject of a €9m + bonuses bid from Hull City, was announced as ‘not going anywhere’ by his manager on transfer deadline day during a press conference ahead of Angers’ game against Caen on Wednesday.
However, beIN Sports in France are now reporting the offer has been accepted by the Angers board, who have given the player until midnight tonight (French time) to make a decision on his future.

The news, reported by Margot Dumon, is in line with the information presented by FootMercato earlier during the day that ‘the ball was in the player’s court’.
Who do you believe at this stage? Journalists who seem to be getting information from the club, or the team’s actual manager during a press conference? We’ll see who’s right in the coming hours. Our money is on the manager.
