Everton and Wolves were linked with SC Braga’s Al Musrati during the summer transfer window, with the 26-year-old midfielder thought to be an achievable target for Premier League clubs.
Wednesday’s edition of O Jogo says the player was being considered by the English pair, along with Benfica, however, it’s stated that in the end he ‘resisted’ interest from elsewhere and decided to continue with Braga for a third season.
Whether that’s because Everton and Wolves held back, instead going more seriously for other targets, isn’t clear. Whilst O Jogo present it as the player resisting, it’s hard to believe a Braga player would be able to resist the platform and fortune of the Premier League.
Given many clauses at Portuguese clubs are €60m and above, it suggests there’s a little room there for temptation to remain.
