Luan’s agent Jair Peixoto has confirmed the talks with Leicester. In an interview with ESPN, the representative said he met the Foxes’ officials and Grêmio now wait for an official bid to be made.
When asked about how the English club would get a work permit for the 23-year-old, Peixoto said: “Luan could be registered as a ‘special player’ too, he fits it, and therefore he would not have any obstacle in case of an agreement.”
The agent has already told Leicester the striker’s demands, and now they wait for the offer to be official: “It was a conversation to show what we want as a business model, our ideas and what we plan to achieve. We didn’t set a deadline for the bid to be made. It could be tomorrow or in ten days.”
He also sent a warning saying whoever comes first, will have the chance to sign the player. “There is no talk of priority. We will close with the first to arrive with what we demand.”
According to ESPN, Grêmio were asking €25m in the recent approaches for Luan. The club have 70% of his economic rights.
