Chelsea may be handed a second chance to sign Ibrahim Sangare from PSV Eindhoven, with the Dutch club needing a big sale before July 1st.
That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by Soccer News, who say the club’s financial situation has left them needing a sale.
Sangare was linked with Chelsea at the end of the transfer window, with the Blues making a late bid to add him to their midfield.
That effort was rejected by PSV, who didn’t want to lose a star player at the last minute in the window.
The midfielder had been linked with a move for much of the window but signed a new deal in July to end those rumours for the summer.
However, it appears that doesn’t mean he will be staying in Eindhoven long-term, with VI explaining that the financial situation at the club means either he or teammate Cody Gakpo will have to be sold before July 1st.
There’s no mention of the problems the club are facing financially, just that a big sale is needed and Sangare and Gakpo are the candidates.
That gives Chelsea the chance to get their last minute target in the near future, should they remain interested in the coming months.
The Blues have certainly shown a willingness to do deals ahead of time with the signing of Christopher Nkunku, so perhaps Sangare is a name to keep an eye on.
