AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has admitted he is excited about Wednesday’s clash with Chelsea and a return to Stamford Bridge.
The centre-back spent the entirety of his youth at Chelsea, working his way up their ranks from the youth sides to under 18s, under 21s and under 23s between 2014 and 2017.
Loan spells at Hull and Derby followed, the latter seeing him star under Frank Lampard un 2018/19 and be promoted to the Chelsea first team that year when the Blues legend took charge at the club.
He went on to make 27 appearances for the first team between 2019 and 2021 before being sent out on loan to AC Milan in the January transfer window.
That move was made a permanent one the following summer and he’s since established himself as a key player for the Italian giants, starring in their defence and winning Serie A last season.
Wednesday night sees them taking on Chelsea in the Champions League, and Tomori is more than keen for the reunion.
“They are a great team, strong, with good players,” he told Sport Mediaset, relayed by Milan News 24.
“We are focused on our game, and we know that if we play at our level, we can give a good performance and win the match.
“I am excited, I am happy to be back at Stamford Bridge to see familiar faces again. I want to deliver a good performance to help the team and bring the three points home – that’s what I want to do.”
