It was all quiet on the Chelsea transfer front… and then SportBild threw in a little transfer magic to brighten up the end of the January window.
SportBild claim that Chelsea have made an official request to sign Sead Kolasinac from Schalke before the winter window closes. Juventus have also been strongly linked with the player during the January window, but SportBild explain Schalke want to keep him so have turned down Chelsea’s approach.
The problem for Schalke is that Kolasinac’s contract ends in June, and if they don’t sell him now, Chelsea, or anyone else, can start talks with the player and agree a free summer transfer.
Therefore, it would have to be assumed that if Chelsea throw in a good enough offer, very quickly, then Schalke will be tempted to get some money for Kolasinac whilst they can.
Kolasinac is a 23 year old left back who can also play in central defence, which sounds just like the kind of defensive versatility Antonio Conte would like.
