It appears that Marcos Alonso is finally set for his transfer away from Chelsea to Barcelona.
This is what Sport are reporting on Tuesday, claiming the La Liga side are trying to solve the deals surrounding the Spaniard and Miralem Pjanic, as well as a bunch of other exits.
It’s made clear that the Chelsea player’s agent, Raúl Verdú, ‘is currently at the Ciutat Esportiva del Barça, meeting with Mateu Alemany to close the signing of the left-back’.
They state the Blues ‘raised their demands and are asking for a figure of €10-12m’ for Alonso, in a deal that is ‘completely independent’ from the one potentially sending Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the opposite direction.
It’s not explicitly said if that is a fee Barcelona are willing to pay Chelsea for the player, but considering the agent is there to seemingly negotiate the final details of what has been a long and tedious saga, it appears they will be matching the Blues’ demands.
This is all described as a ‘final meeting’, so Alonso’s dream look very, very close to becoming a reality in the next few hours.
