Lazio have turned their attention to Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilón in their search for a new left-back this summer.
That’s according to Radiosei, relayed by La Lazio Siamo Noi, who say manager Maurizio Sarri has been promised one last effort to get him the player he wants.
They explain that Sarri is keen to sign a left-back before the end of the window and President Claudio Lotito has promised to try and find one.
As a result, they have ‘moved in’ to try and sign Reguilón from Tottenham, seeing him as an excellent alternative to first-choice Emerson Palmieri.
The Spaniard is out of favour at Tottenham under Antonio Conte, who has signed Ivan Perisic for the wing-back position this summer and used Ryan Sessegnon at the beginning of this season as well.
That has pushed Reguilón towards an exit and while he’s been linked to Spain, Lazio could make an effort to take him to Italy instead.
They would prefer to sell Elseid Hysaj first but that is not a requirement and Lotito may even try to close a deal with Tottenham without that transfer.
Either way, there is a feeling that a ‘decisive move’ could be incoming from the Serie A side as they try to give Sarri the left-back he’s long been looking for.
