Sevilla have been in touch with Chelsea to discuss a potential loan deal for Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer.
That’s according to Cadena SER, relayed by Estadio Deportivo, who say the Spanish club are eyeing Hudson-Odoi as a replacement for Jesus Manuel Corona.
The Mexico star is set for month on the sidelines after suffering a broken fibula and ligament damage in a non-contact injury in training on Thursday.
That will see him miss a large part of the season, including the World Cup in Qatar, and left Sevilla scrambling to find a replacement.
That could be Chelsea’s Hudson-Odoi, according to Cadena SER, who report that the injury ‘opens the door’ for a move for the Blues forward.
They say that Sevilla had ruled out a move for him earlier in the window as they had option, but Tecatito’s injury means there is now a space for him in the squad.
A move ‘makes sense’ because Hudson-Odoi can play in several positions across the frontline. He also wants to leave Chelsea and has been ‘looking for a way out all summer’ as he wants regular playing time.
That facilitates a possible transfer and after Sevilla ‘had spoken’ to Chelsea about a loan move earlier this summer, they could now reignite that interest and look to take him to Seville.
