Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is a possible option for Barcelona, with the idea of a move ‘gaining many enthusiasts’.
That’s according to AS, who say the Spaniard is being eyed up as a cheap replacement for Sergino Dest.
The newspaper explains that Dest could have his numbers at the Nou Camp numbered as Xavi and his coaches do not fully trust him.
They are therefore scouring right-back market in case a good option appears for them, especially after failing to sign Cesar Azpilicueta.
Among the names that have ‘sounded strongly’ is that of Bellerin, who is keen to leave Arsenal this summer.
He spent last season on loan at boyhood club Real Betis and is keen to return there but that deal has not advanced due to the Spanish side’s financial issues.
He is now negotiating a free transfer with Arsenal and if that were to be agreed, Barcelona are ‘considering the possibility’ of making an effort for him.
Their first priorities are Marcos Alonso and Bernardo Silva but those in charge see the idea of signing Bellerin, particularly on a free if they can sell Dest, ‘with good eyes’.
