Nottingham Forest are keen on Cádiz winger Iván Alejo and have ‘knocked on his door’ about a move this summer.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who say the 27-year-old could be signed for a €5m deal, despite having a €15m release clause in his current contract.
The outlet reports that Alejo is ‘one of the most coveted players’ at Cádiz after he managed to impress in the second half of last season.
His performances then ‘attracted the attention’ of several clubs, including Nottingham Forest, who have ‘knocked on his door’ but have not yet submitted a formal offer to Cádiz.
However, the reality is actually different and like with the rest of the players in the squad, Cádiz ‘would be willing to sit down to negotiate’ a deal.
On that front, Estadio have been able to learn that Cádiz would talk about a deal worth around €5m, although they would prefer to ‘receive some more money’ than that.
At the moment, Alejo is happy where he is as he is receiving the prominence in the first team that he wants, the fans hold him in high regard, and he should have a starring role in the first-team next season.
He’s set to return to training this week with the rest of his teammates, with training set to begin on Thursday after medical tests on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Whether he remains at Cádiz at the end of the summer remains to be seen, though, with Nottingham Forest keen and the winger available for a very attainable figure of €5m.
