As Celtic get closer on the signing of Lanus left-back Alexander Bernabei, reports from Argentina now show the process is in its final stages.
Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo now claims the player has ‘already undergone medical’ in Scotland, getting ready to complete the move to play under Ange Postecoglou.
It’s claimed that Celtic are now ‘preparing the contract’, with Bernabei expected to sign ‘in the next few hours’ a five-year deal.
Merlo reiterates that the Parkhead side agreed to buy 90% of the player’s rights, meaning that Lanus are keeping 10% of a future sale.

Even though the Argentine media has been reporting Celtic’s interest and efforts to sign Bernabei for a while, it’s interesting that their reports still haven’t said how much the Scottish side are set to pay to take him out of his club.
With Transfermarkt recently rating him at €3.3m, which is quite high for a South American fullback, you’d expect the figures paid by the Hoops to be somewhere along those lines.
