On Monday, we covered the increasing optimism regarding Crystal Palace’s efforts to sign Cheick Doucouré from RC Lens.
It was claimed that the Premier League side are offering €20m plus €5m in bonuses for the signing, and there was a positive feeling that an agreement could be found soon.
With recent claims from France saying the player had already agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace, only a deal between the clubs was needed for the transfer to be agreed.
Now this final update seems to come from RMC Sport. They say the player is ‘very close’ to moving to the South London side.
According to the report, the operation is ‘estimated’ at an initial €21m plus €5m, very similar numbers to those reported earlier. The outlet then adds that the negotiations are in ‘the final details’.
With Doucoré reported to be one of Patrick Vieira’s main targets for the summer window, it now seems Palace did what was needed to make the operation happen, and it looks like a matter of time until it’s confirmed.
