Despite the official farewell Fernandinho had from Manchester City, the midfielder is still to sign for a new club, as he currently enjoys his time off before taking a final decision.
As Brazilian sides get interested in signing him, a report from journalist André Hernan now claims that the player turned down an offer to move to the United Arab Emirates.
On Youtube, the reporter says Fernandinho had the chance to join Al-Wasl, who’d pay him over US$2m on a one-year contract.
The 37-year-old, however, claimed this is not the kind of destination he’s looking for, as after leaving Manchester City, he’d like to return to Brazil.
Hernan points out Fernandinho has been heavily linked to Athletico Paranaense, having confirmed the desire from the club in signing him, and says ‘everything indicates’ he’s indeed moving to Furacão following the Manchester City departure.
That’s where the player started his professional career, and since he feels comfortable in the city of Curitiba, there’s where he should finish his playing days as well.
