Maurizio Sarri’s first major trophy of his managerial career came with Chelsea, when he guided them to the Europa League success in 2019.
The Italian coach spent only one season with the west London club before leaving them for Juventus, and he is now currently at Lazio, where he is looking at the Blues to shape up his squad for the new campaign.
Emerson Palmieri is one of the players on the manager’s agenda for the Biancocelesti this summer.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport on Thursday, who explain the Blues are ‘ready to listen to offers’ for the 27-year-old.
After being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s plans, he spent the last season on loan at Lyon, with an option to buy set at €15m.
The Ligue 1 side have not exercised it and therefore, the Brazil-born Italy international will have to return to Stamford Bridge.
Lazio are also looking to take the left-back on a loan deal, potentially with the right of redemption, which could again be set at €15m by Chelsea.
His contract expires in 2024 and the newspaper suggests that Lazio could try to snatch a discount from the Premier League side.
Emerson was unable to enjoy regular game time at Chelsea when Sarri was in charge at Stamford Bridge.
That, however, will have no bearing on a potential move to Lazio as Corriere explain he would ‘gladly return’ to work under his former manager again.
