There was a time when Arsenal and Tottenham were in a fight to try and sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus on a free.
The Argentine made it clear he would be leaving, which he is, and while Inter appear to be the favourites to get him, the Romelu Lukaku saga has put everything on hold.
His wages mean some room will need to be made to accommodate Dybala as well, which is a problem.
On Tuesday, we saw a claim that Tottenham were ‘at the window’ to see what would happen, awaiting further developments, and their chance might still come.
However, what will clearly need to happen, according to AS Argentina, is for Dybala to lower his demands, which is exactly what made the Gunners and Spurs baulk initially.
The outlet explain that ‘clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham, who asked about him at the time, were not convinced about the first conditions when they inquired about the Argentine’.
By that, they mean that his wage request will have been too high, and it’s clear Dybala is not facing an ‘important decision’.
He needs to find himself a new club sooner rather than later, and if Inter continue to delay matters, it might re-open the door for Tottenham and Arsenal.
