FC Union striker Taiwo Awoniyi ‘said goodbye to teammates’ this morning ahead of a potential move to Nottingham Forest.
That’s according to BZ, who say the striker said his farewells to his teammates in the dressing room ahead of training today.
They explain that while the team stuck around and prepared for the first joint training session of the season, the attacker left the Alte Försterei with a suitcase at 10:05 am.
He then left the training ground in his car, presumably to travel and finalise a return to the Premier League.
He is ‘in talks’ over a move to Nottingham Forest and ‘is expected to sign‘ with the Premier League newcomers at some point this week.
There have been rumours about a move from Union courtesy of his performances last season, in which he scored 15 goals in 31 games in the Bundesliga.
A release clause of €20m made him a highly attractive option, and Nottingham Forest have made the move to sign him as they strengthen following promotion back to the top flight.
