Atlético Madrid have ‘received an offer’ from Arsenal for striker Alvaro Morata, with Juventus also eyeing up a permanent deal.
That’s according to journalist Nicolo Ceccarini, who says the Italian side are ‘working to find a solution’ for the striker.
Morata is currently on loan at the Italian giants, having joined them on a two-year deal from Atlético in September 2020.
He’s scored 59 goals and registered 39 assists in 185 games for the club since, and they would be happy to keep him but only for a price that suits them.
It’s something that they are working on with their Spanish counterparts, and in the meantime, other suitors, such as Arsenal, have appeared.
The Gunners are determined to add an experienced striker to their squad after Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang departed this year, and Morata has been named as an option.
In fact, according to Ceccarini, Atlético have ‘received an offer’ from the Emirates, although the nature of that bid isn’t made clear.
They are presumably looking to take advantage of Juventus’ hesitation, with it explained that the ‘economic differences’ between themselves and Atlético are holding up a permanent move to Turin.
That gives Arsenal the chance to get their man, and it seems an initial offer has been lodged at the Wanda Metropolitano to make it happen.
