Considering Bernd Leno is a backup these days at Arsenal, it’s entirely to the Gunners’ advantage to cash in on him while they still can.
Doing so, however, would create a need for competition at the Emirates for Aaron Ramsdale, which is where Barcelona’s Neto would come in.
The links aren’t anything new, dating back to at least 2019, when the Brazilian was still at Valencia and Unai Emery was still in charge in London, and they seem to reappear every year like clockwork.
This summer is no different, with a couple of reports already emerging that Arsenal could be interested in the goalkeeper, with it recently said the player approached the Gunners about a move.
Well, Sport continue with that line on Friday, explaining the Brazilian ‘wants to leave to play’ and there could be ‘an agreement with financial compensation if he finds a team’.
He has a few interested in him, with it said he has ‘two offers in Spain’, but for that he ‘must go free’, while ‘his agents are trying to advance with Arsenal’.
There appears to be a push for this to happen, which would then allow Bernd Leno to leave and get himself a starting spot somewhere else.
