West Ham United have been linked with a move for Leeds United forward Chris Wood despite claims from Calciomercato they have also been interested in Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic. The Leeds United star has been impressive form for the club this season, and is the top scorer in Garry Monk’s side.

Calciomercato have reported on claims in the British media West Ham, along with Sunderland are keen on Wood, and could sign the Leeds United star for £15m. West Ham want to bring in a forward in this transfer window after Simone Zaza left the club earlier in the month, and Jonathan Calleri has struggled since arriving in England during the summer.

Due to these problems in attack Calciomercato report West Ham have recently been linked with Fiorentina’s Kalinic, but may be put off by his valuation. The Viola have put a €50m price tag on the Croatia international, and Wood would be the cheaper option for the Hammers.

The Italian football outlet’s claims West Ham have been interested in Kalinic could also be questioned given the number of forwards the East London side have been linked with in recent weeks.

Wood has been a key player in Leeds United’s push for promotion, and Monk will not want his star forward to leave in this transfer window. The New Zealand international has scored fourteen league goals this season, which has helped his side climb the table after a poor start to the campaign.
