Even though Arsenal recently emerged as the favourites to sign Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, it seems Italian clubs are hopeful of winning this battle as well.
The 25-year-old has, for a long time, been linked to Juventus, and it’s now also AC Milan who show up as a contender for his signing this summer.
Outlet Calcio Mercato points out the two Serie A giants got information ‘through the player’s entourage’, with the Rossoneri going stronger for the signing.
It’s said Milan are ‘particularly interested’ and it’s possible that new contact between the parties could happen this week, with the club working on a project to convince the Manchester City player to make the move.
Juventus, meanwhile, are said to have their interest ‘more nuanced’, and Arsenal are still said to be ‘ahead of all the antagonists in the race’.
Calcio Mercato says the list of contenders for the signing of Gabriel Jesus is pretty long. Besides mentioning Arsenal, they point out that Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United all have interest as well.
So even though it’s said the player is ‘strongly wanted’ by Pep Guardiola, it seems Manchester City will have plenty of offers for him on the table this summer.
Arsenal may be out in front, but there’s clearly competition building ahead of the window.
