Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka could ‘end his career’ as FC Basel after reconciling differences with club owner David Degen.
That’s according to Blick, who explain that a recent falling out between the two has been resolved after behind the scenes talks.
They explain that Xhaka and Degen ‘love each other again’ after falling out over comments the Arsenal man made on Instagram.
He publicly aired his disappointment with the situation at the club on the social media platform, criticising the management and insisting he wouldn’t be returning in future as a result of the ‘politics’ in place.
This was all centered around his brother, who currently finds himself out of favour at the Swiss club, much to the Arsenal player’s dismay.
His comments seemingly didn’t go down well with Degen, and Blick say there was a ‘debate’ between the pair regarding the current situation.
However, they have now held a ‘discussion’ to resolve their differences and ‘jumped over their own shadows’ to reconcile. A feat, they say, seen as ‘remarkable’.
The Arsenal man’s frustration is also said to have ‘dissipated’, which means his dream of playing for Basel in future remains intact.
That’s something he’s spoken about in the past, revealing he and his brother have a shared dream of playing together at Basel before they hang up their boots.
A falling out with the club’s owner threatened that, but they’ve now kissed and made up, although whether Xhaka can resist more criticism in the future is debatable.
