Diogo Dalot potentially returning to Italian football is a story which has again been edged forward by the country’s media in the past few days.
Earlier this week, we covered a report from Calciomercato which explained Manchester United are working to keep the player. The Premier League club would be looking to get a renewal, given Dalot’s current contract expires in June 2023.
Serie A clubs Fiorentina and AS Roma were pushed forward, with there also said to be interest from Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
Calciomercato now brings a brief update, just to push home the Roma interest further.
According to the report, Jose Mourinho’s side ‘really like’ Dalot, and a return to Italy could be on the cards.
It’s stated the fullback has a ‘special bond’ with Italy, having enjoyed his time on loan with AC Milan from Manchester United.
Of course, much will depend on what happens with talks about a potential renewal at Old Trafford, and how Dalot fits into the club’s future plans.
