Brentford’s approach to sign Christian Eriksen was first reported by The Athletic and the claims have since made their way around the world media.
There’s a huge amount of goodwill towards the Danish footballer, with fans wanting to see him safely return to the game following his cardiac arrest during the delayed Euro 2020 tournament.
Having rescinded his contract with Inter Milan, the 29-year-old is now a free agent and can sign with a club of his choosing. Multiple clubs from the Eredivisie have been linked, and Tuesday’s edition of De Telegraaf details talks which have been held with PSV recently.
The Dutch newspaper reports Eriksen has been approached by three clubs from the country, and they explain the player listened seriously to what PSV had to say. However that hasn’t seen a deal build, and De Telegraaf believe that’s because of interest from elsewhere.
Brentford are one of four Premier League clubs keen, and they’re the only one named by De Telegraaf.
