With Arsenal currently 11th in the Premier League and Manchester United stumbling a few times already with the season just seven games in, the futures of Mikel Arteta and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are often discussed.
Many rumours have swirled around the Spaniard at the Emirates, such was the disastrous start to the Gunners’ season, but the last few games appear to have stabilised the ship somewhat.
On the other hand, Manchester United started strongly, but have found life a bit more difficult of late, drawing and losing to opponents they really should be beating.
That’s led to rumours both could be replaced, and Brentford manager, Thomas Frank, who has the Bees currently in seventh after seven games, has been linked.
Asked about it by Bold, the Dane said: “So, I understand that well, but… Arsenal and United. Wasn’t that how it was? I think I read that at some point. It’s very nice, but one thing is rumours, and the other is if they really wanted to contact me. Then we have to take it from there”.
Before Brentford fans start panicking about potentially losing their manager, Frank also made it clear he wasn’t against renewing his deal with his current side.
He said: “I have a contact until 2023. I’m insanely happy at Brentford. A club that means a lot to me and where I have had great times. I enjoy working with our director of football, owners, players, staff and fans.
“It’s the club who must come to me, but now we must see what the future brings. I know we have a mutual respect and a good relationship with each other on that”.
That last part was referring to a potential contract renewal with Brentford, but as you saw from the quote above, if Arsenal or Manchester United come knocking, he certainly could listen to what they have to say.
