Monday’s edition of ABC Sevilla has a report on Youssef En-Nesyri, detailing his recovery from injury and why he’s been hesitant over changing clubs.
The striker has told his closest friends that he has an ‘exciting and ideal season ahead of him’ with Sevilla. His development has resulted in interest from elsewhere, including from Arsenal.
It’s claimed as many as six clubs approached his agent, to inform him about their willingness to ‘offer a contract vastly superior to the one he has at Sevilla’. En-Nesyri, however, said ‘no, again and again’.
The north London club are one of the sides that have tried to convince the attacker.
Mikel Arteta informed Arsenal chief Vinai Venkatesham the player can be the ‘benchmark of the Gunners attack’.
Venkatesham gave his approval to sign Julen Lopetegui’s star, but the deal didn’t go through because En-Nesyri had no intention to leave Sevilla in the last window.
On September 8th, La Colina de Nervión reported Arsenal view En-Nesyri as an ‘ideal’ candidate to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates. La Razón also have a short update from the weekend, stating that the Gunners are in the picture to sign the attacker.
With Arsenal looking at En-Nesyri, they have a difficult road ahead of them to convince him to join them.
