Juventus have been in contact with Manchester City over Bernardo Silva, with the Italian side eyeing up a loan deal for the Portuguese midfielder.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say the Serie A giants have already ‘sounded out’ Manchester City about a possible deal.
The website explains that Juventus are on the hunt for an ‘all purpose’ midfielder to bolster their options, and Silva is a ‘strong name’ on their list.
He’s been a regular for Manchester City so far this season and impressed, but made it clear in the summer he wanted to leave; something Pep Guardiola admitted to publicly.
They like Silva because he reminds them of Claudio Marchisio, a midfielder who could score a dozen goals a season to help out the team, something Max Allegri is desperate to add.
It’s made clear Manchester City wouldn’t let him go on the cheap after paying €50m in 2017 but could be talked into an ‘interest loan’ until the end of the season, at which point the two clubs could discuss another loan deal or a permanent move.
Before any serious talks are held, Juventus need to get rid of some players, particularly Aaron Ramsey, who they simply don’t want at this point.
When that happens, they will ‘intensify the negotiations’ for Silva, who has a ‘very good chance’ of being the man Allegri targets to add goals to his midfield.
