Arsenal are interested in preventing Nabil Fekir signing a new deal at Real Betis, but face competition from Everton and London rivals West Ham for his signature.
That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say all three Premier League clubs ‘threaten’ the Frenchman’s renewal at the Spanish club.
They explain that the negotiations for Fekir to extend his stay at the Benito Villamarin are at an ‘advanced stage’, but that has not stopped Premier League clubs from showing interest.
Three have shown they would like to make a move, with it stated that Arsenal, Everton and West Ham have all ‘stepped in the negotiations’.
They are ‘threatening’ to try to sign him, with his contract set to expire in 2023, meaning next summer, could force Betis to sell if he indicates he won’t extend.
That could suit Arsenal, Everton and West Ham perfectly as they would be able to make a ‘powerful economic offer’ that would convince him to leave a club where he is settled and happy with the sporting project.
The website goes into detail on all three, labelling West Ham as a side that a ‘slowly but surely establishing themselves’ in the upper echelons of the Premier League and Europe, where they’ve won both their games this season.
Everton, meanwhile, have ‘big ambitions’ for the January transfer market and want to add to their squad to continue their winning start to life under Rafa Benitez.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are ‘in decline’, and the Gunners want to change their fortunes by making Fekir their new star.
What any of the clubs would have to pay isn’t made clear, nor is whether Fekir would entertain a move to any of them, but it appears they want to put themselves right in the way of Betis’ efforts to renew his deal.
