Red Bull Salzburg will find it ‘difficult’ to keep hold of star forward Karim Adeyemi should Liverpool come calling for him.
That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who says the Austrian club are protected by the lack of a release clause in the player’s contract.
Adeyemi has established himself as the star of the show for Salzburg, with 18 goals and 17 assists in 62 games for them since joining in 2018.
He’s continued to shine this season, with eight goals and two assists in 12 games in all competitions, including the Champions League.
That’s led to speculation about his future, with some of the biggest clubs in Europe reportedly keen on his signature.
Liverpool have regularly been named among his suitors, even though he recently admitted that he would prefer a move to Bayern Munich if it was on offer.
Either way, it’s likely that the Reds will continue to be linked, and Falk says that there is some interest there.
“This is a semi-true,” he told BILD.
“One must say that the player is interesting also to Bavaria, they observed him and like him, but it is not hot so one cannot announce it in any case.
“But it’s not true that he’s on the shadow list. I think he will stay for another year. I met him on Monday in Austria, and he’s a very likeable boy.
“The club would like to keep him for another year, he has a contract until 2024, and they don’t have an exit clause in his contract like Haaland, so that’s good.
“But, if Liverpool come knocking, it will be difficult. At the moment, I say he stays a little longer.”
