Loaned out for the past four seasons, this one included, Tiemoué Bakayoko is bored of the nomadic life.
Bought from AS Monaco by Chelsea back in 2017, the defensive midfielder has only managed one full season in the Blues’ shirt, under Antonio Conte.
After that, it’s been a series of loans, with Milan taking him onboard twice, once in 2018 and once again for the next two seasons, where he has the chance to convince the Serie A side to gamble on him permanently if he performs well thanks to an option to buy in his contract that could become compulsory if certain requests are met.
Presented to the press on Thursday, the Chelsea loanee made it clear that if it were up to him, this would be the last transfer for a very long time.
He said, relayed by Gazzetta dello Sport: “The time has to for stability. To settle. This is definitely the club that suits me best and is the place where I would like to stay. I have a particular attachment to Milan, I consider it my home and this is where I would like to win trophies. I really missed the environment, the city, I have always followed this club”.
The player then revealed he’s already spoken to the likes of Franck Kessie, whom he knows from his last spell there, as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his former Chelsea teammates Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud.
The rest will come with time, but it’s clear Bakayoko is keen to put his Stamford Bridge spell behind him and is determined to do his best to secure a permanent move to the San Siro.
