Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos loves giving an interview to the Italian media.
Last week, the midfielder’s representative admitted his client’s next step could be to return to the Serie A after having achieved success with the Azzurri in the summer.
Roberto Mancini has included the 29-year-old in his squad for the ongoing international break and the former Napoli man addressed the media on Tuesday.
His current deal with the Blues will run down in 2023 and the Brazil-born Italy international was quizzed about his next goal and whether he will retire at the west London club.
Responding to that, Thomas Tuchel’s man has made it clear there has been no talks over an extension with the Champions League winners.
“My next goal is to beat Bulgaria. We don’t have to look far but the next match, the goal is to beat Bulgaria, then Switzerland and Lithuania. One thing at a time and in the end, they come to terms,” Jorginho said, as quoted by TuttoMercatWeb.
“On the contract I say that I have not had any offer and now I do not even think about it, honestly. But at 29 you already talk to me about finishing your career but I want to play up to 40… (laughs, editor’s note). If they make me a ten-year contract then yes…”
With the summer transfer window now behind us, Chelsea could focus on securing long-term futures of some of their players in the coming weeks and months.
Meanwhile, Jorginho was named as the UEFA Men’s Best Player of the Year last Thursday and he was quizzed about his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or.
“On Ballon d’Or, I let you speak, I try to live in the moment. There are still a few months left for that decision and I think about the present , I want to enjoy this moment with those around me. We’ll see what happens…” he explained.
