Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that his future will be known ‘in one hour’.
The player has just landed in Lisbon with his girlfriend, and obviously surrounded by journalists, he was asked about his situation following the departure from Juventus.
Ronaldo didn’t look like speaking to the press, but when entering a car, he said ‘you’ll know in one hour’, as broadcast live on TVI24.
Portugal’s public broadcasting service already claimed the forward should be on his way to Manchester United, as the deal could be done in the ‘coming hours’.
Ronaldo had spent much of the week being seriously linked with a move to Manchester City, a switch which had been reported as a done deal by some.
Pep Guardiola has been looking for a striker and has already missed out on Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer, so it wasn’t a huge surprise that City turned towards Ronaldo. With that track now also resulting in no signing for the Premier League champions, Guardiola will be hoping an alternative option can be found before the window closes.a
