Mikkel Damsgaard has been linked with a move away from Sampdoria for much of the summer, and even more so after he impressed for Denmark at Euro 2020.

Tottenham Hotspur have been the Premier League club most linked with the player, with Leeds United also getting repeat mentions in recent weeks.

Calciomercato take a look at the player’s situation, and as far as they have it, it’s Tottenham and Aston Villa who are ‘in first place’ for his signing, and there’s no mention of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

AC Milan, AS Roma and Juventus are also credited with an interest, but with Sampdoria wanting €30-35m, the signing would be difficult for Serie A clubs in this window.

Given the signings Aston Villa have already made, it could be that Damsgaard was an option at one point, but that is no longer the case.

Tottenham have long looked the likeliest destination in England, and Fabio Paratici will be well aware how difficult it can be to deal with Sampdoria.
