Over the past few months, Jorginho’s agent has given several interviews to the Italian media, discussing various scenarios on when his client could leave Chelsea.
The 29-year-old’s contract expires in 2023 and the representative has repeatedly mentioned contract talks with the Blues.
João Santos gave interviews right after the midfielder won the Champions League with the west London club in May and Euro 2020 with Italy last month.
Thomas Tuchel’s side overcame Villarreal to win the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday and a day later, the representative was once again discussing the former Napoli star.
Jorginho’s agent has now revealed an unknown club have asked about the Brazil-born Italy international and he made these claims when detailing Juventus’ failed effort to sign the player when Maurizio Sarri was in charge of the Turin club.
“Juventus was a possibility when there was Sarri: he liked him a lot, wherever he goes he talks about him, so it’s clear that he also talked about him at Juventus. There was a poll but in the end it didn’t go through,” the representative told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, relayed by Juventusnews24.com.
“Today in the world there are at most 6-7 teams that can take him: someone has already asked for information.”
CalcioNapoli24 have also covered additional quotes from Santos’ interview, where the agent, like he has done in the past, stressed Jorginho would consider returning to Serie A.
“Returning to Italy [is] possible after the World Cup, but at the moment only six or seven teams in the world can afford him,” Santos explained.
With Jorginho having won silverware with both Chelsea and Italy in recent months, it’s no surprise the topic of Ballon d’Or was brought up.
“Ballon d’Or? There are certainly stronger players, but no one has done better than him this year,” the agent concluded.
