Club ‘have decided to stake all their chips’ in Chelsea player – Will ‘try to make him feel as pampered as possible’

Tammy Abraham is currently at the centre of a tug of war between Arsenal and AS Roma.

The Chelsea striker, who isn’t part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans going forward, would, ideally, stay in London if he could, but the reality is the Blues would rather not sell him to the Gunners, a city rival.

That’s why they would rather want him to go to AS Roma, and the Serie A side’s general director Tiago Pinto made the trip to London on Wednesday to get talks going.

Gazzetta dello Sport cover the situation on Thursday, claiming the Italian club ‘have decided to stake all their chips’ on the English striker.

Arsenal are still pushing, but their issue is they ‘should first sell Alexandre Lacazette’ before being able to make a move for the Chelsea man.

Over in Rome, Mourinho has ‘guaranteed the player a bright future’, and Pinto will, when meeting him to day, ‘try to make him feel as pampered as possible’.

Furthermore, there’s the already well talked about buy back clause, which ‘would be an extra boost for Abraham to accept the Giallorossi offer’, as he would have ‘the prospect of doing well and then maybe being able to return to London’.
