Joaquin Correa has been linked with a move to the Premier League for much of the summer, with Tottenham the club being mentioned in most stories.

The Italian media started off by presenting the situation as a battle between Spurs and their London rivals Arsenal, with both initially said to be keen on the Lazio player.

Since then, Mikel Arteta’s side have dropped out of most of the stories, with Arsenal again not getting a mention from Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday. The Gunners have been replaced by Everton and Aston Villa in the claims, with Tottenham remaining.

Corriere dello Sport have a headline which states: ‘Who makes the offer?’

Lazio currently have no offers for Correa, and the player’s agent hasn’t managed to take anything serious to Rome, despite asking for a transfer at the beginning of the summer.

According to the report, the Serie A club have been asking for €40m, but ‘everyone is convinced’ that should an offer of €30m, plus bonuses, arrive then Lazio will allow the player to leave.

Even reaching €30m seems ambitious in this market, and especially considering previous claims have suggested €25m could do the trick.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton are mentioned, and it’s made clear that none of those have really pressed for the signing yet, with Lazio awaiting an offer.
