Having addressed the right-wing situation with Jadon Sancho and trying to find the ideal Harry Maguire partner with Raphaël Varane, Manchester United are setting themselves up for a big transfer window.

One other area that could use some reinforcement is the midfield, especially if Paul Pogba were to leave, which is why we’ve seen the likes of Eduardo Camavinga linked.

The young midfielder would unlikely be a like for like replacement, likely due to his age, meaning a more experienced target might also be needed, which is where Nicolò Barella comes in.

The Inter star was one of the best performers for Italy throughout the Euros, helping them lift the trophy as they beat England on penalties, and a few Premier League clubs are looking at him.

La Repubblica, relayed by FC Inter News, explain Liverpool are ready to present around €70m to get a transfer done, a sum that would put the Serie A club ‘in crisis’.

As for Manchester United, they are said to be ‘thinking about him’, suggesting he is on a list somewhere at Carrington, pinned to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s board.

Either way, it would take a hefty fee to convince Inter to part ways with one of their big players, especially after they promised Simone Inzaghi no one else of that stature would leave post-Achraf Hakimi sale, but €70m or so would ‘really complicate’ matters for them.
