In April, we relayed news from Germany that Arsenal are ‘very interested’ in signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.
On June 2nd, SportBild reported that Leicester City are also ‘interested’ in the centre-back.
This week’s edition of SportBild explains the Bundesliga side have identified Schalke’s Ozan Kabak as a ‘candidate’ to strengthen their defence for next season.
It’s claimed Leverkusen will look at all positions across the backline, but any movements with regards to incomings will happen late in the market.
The same report also talks about Mikel Arteta’s side and the Foxes’ interest in the 25-year-old, and states the two English clubs have made contact over the signing.
The Germany international, for his part, ‘wants to go to England’, and after contacts were established with both the Gunners and Leicester, Tah must wait for one of these sides to make a concrete effort to sign him this summer.
Reports in England have detailed Arsenal’s interest in Brighton & Hove Albion’s Ben White and it remains to be seen whether the north London club see Tah as an alternative or an additional signing.
