It appears that Tottenham are on the verge of announcing a new manager, and it’s Paulo Fonseca.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the deal is as good as done, with the Portuguese manager’s lawyers ‘defining the last details of the contract that will tie him to Daniel Levy’s club’.
Fonseca emerged as an 11th hour option for the London side following failed attempts to sign Julian Nagelsmann, Antonio Conte and others to replace José Mourinho.
Eventually, with the apparent help of new director of football Fabio Paratici, Fonseca appeared and ‘there appear to be no doubts on the horizon’.
TuttoMercatoWeb stated that ‘by the end of the week, the signature is expected’.
Tottenham are expected to hand Fonseca a two-year deal with the option of a third, with his last job being AS Roma’s, where, somewhat coincidentally or ironically, José Mourinho took his job after his contract ran down.
