It’s much easier to talk about things which haven’t gone your way right after something which very much has. That’s the case for Ajax manager Erik ten Hag, who at the weekend saw his club secure the league title.
Last week, following claims of potential Tottenham interest, the manager signed a new contract with the Dutch club, and lifting the Eredivisie trophy was a great way to celebrate it.
Ten Hag is getting widespread praise in the Netherlands, with De Telegraaf today rating his performance as 8.5/10 for the season. The Dutch newspaper state he ‘deserves all the praise’ for securing another league title for Ajax, whilst also playing attractive football and providing lots of goals for fans to cheer.
Tan Hag has now confirmed Ajax were also in the mix, quoted by Dutch website Soccer News as saying the Amsterdam club really battled for the transfer, “But he ultimately chose Tottenham Hotspur”.
