Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid have suffered another injury setback, to add to a long list of woes for the manager this season.
Once again, the injury is in central defence, and it will see Raphael Varane miss the trip to London this week, in what will be a boost for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Chelsea are set to welcome the Spanish club on Wednesday for the second tie in their Champions League semi-final. It’s a match very much on a knife edge, with the score currently being 1-1.
Madrid will hope to be tight at the back, and to grab an away goal, and they’ll now have to do it without Varane. The French World Cup winner picked up an injury against Osasuna at the weekend, and Real Madrid have now officially confirmed the injury, and AS say that he won’t be fit for the battle against Chelsea.
