Sead Kolasinac is having a purple patch at just the right time. Like many footballers before him, Kolasinac is playing out of his skin as his contract comes to an end and other clubs spike their interest.
Less than two weeks ago, German magazine SportBild reported Tottenham, Everton and Stoke City have the player on their lists. Spurs don’t need a left back, they’re very well stocked, so perhaps Everton and Stoke are the likelier bets.
With a goal and four assists in 7 Bundesliga appearances this season, and helping Schalke turn their season, it’s now wonder there’s interest.
Schalke are obviously aware of the situation and the danger posed by Premier League interest. And more interesting of all for Everton and Stoke, and most dangerous for Schalke, is that Kolasinac would move on a free transfer. In January he can talk to other clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement.
Schalke manager Markus Weinzierl has a message for the club, quoted by Der Westen as saying: “It is important that we keep him. Best of all, quickly.”
Everton and Stoke could offer higher wages than Schalke, especially on a free move, and that could represent a problem for Schalke.
