Torino manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has played down the valuation of his star forward Andrea Belotti after the club’s president said he’s worth €90m. The young attacker has been in impressive goal scoring form this season, and has been linked with Everton in the past week.
TMW have reported on comments Mihajlovic made in his press conference today when he was asked about Urbano Cairo valuing Belotti at such a high figure. The Torino coach said if anybody wants to pay such a figure then it’s up to them, but the Serbian believes the player is nowhere near this value.
The former Lazio star wet on to say if Belotti is worth this then he would have cost somewhere in this region during his playing days.
“If there is anyone who wants to pay this then well, but the figures are exaggerated, the value is not real. If I played now and not 20 years ago, I too with my characteristics, I would have been worth €100m,” said the Torino boss.
Earlier in this week we reported Everton were present at the game between Crotone and Torino last weekend. It was claimed Everton’s main focus was on Andrea Belotti, who has impressed for the Serie A this season. The Italian has already been linked with a €35m move to the Premier League with Arsenal.
The 22-year-old forward has scored 22 league goals in 46 appearances since making his debut for Torino, and he broke into the Italy side this year. Belotti also scored both goals in his side’s win 2-0 over Crotone last Sunday.
