While Manchester United fans celebrated qualification for the Europa League quarterfinals following the 1-0 win against AC Milan last night, many didn’t notice a little argument in the technical area.

When leaving the pitch, Rossoneri manager Stefano Pioli didn’t like the words of Red Devils’ coach Kieran McKenna, and ended up shouting some unrepeatable phrases at him.

His anger made some noise in the Italian media, and it turned out that in a short statement today, the Milan boss ended up apologising for his behaviour.

“I’m sorry for the behaviour I had. It won’t happen again. I complimented Solskjaer, I was angry with his assistant,” said Pioli (via Calcio Mercato).

Since the image only shows the Manchester United coaches from the back, most of the Italian media had thought Pioli’s words were towards Solskjaer.
