The agent of Sunderland star Sebastian Larsson has told the Swedish media his client will see out the season with the club. The 31-year-old has just returned from injury, and this week came through an U23 game against Manchester United.
Jonsson said every transfer window the Sunderland midfielder is linked with a return to his home country, but also revealed clubs from other countries are interested in the player. Despite this speculation Larsson’s agent confirmed he’s just concentrating on Sunderland for the rest of the season, but hasn’t closed the door on any possible move in the future.
“There is Swedish and foreign interest in Sebastian in every transfer window, so it’s been a long time. There is interest from both the (Swedish) league and Asia for Seb, but we have not received any bids, simply because he now quite categorically wants to concentrate on finishing the season and now, for the first time in two years, he feels perfectly healthy,” said Larsson’s agent.
Larsson in recent years has been linked with a return to Sweden, and with his Sunderland contract set to expire next summer this move could finally happen. Earlier today we covered reports that Gothenburg and AIK have some interest in the attacking midfielder.
