Time is running out for Simone Zaza at West Ham United despite only arriving in the summer. After 10 appearances for the Premier League club, Zaza hasn’t found the back of the net yet, and it’s becoming more likely that he’ll be shipped back to Italy soon.
As revealed by Zaza’s father, West Ham will have to sign the Italian forward permanently should he make 14 appearances for the club, but reports continue to link him with a move back to Serie A.
It’s widely claimed Napoli are the most interested ones in his services, but it remains to be seen if it’s genuine.
According to Il Mattino, Napoli could try signing Simone Zaza or Genoa’s Leonardo Pavoletti.
Il Mattino say Zaza earns €3.3m/season at West Ham, and he must take a wage cut to get a move back to Serie A.
It’s reported Zaza could cost Napoli around €20m, and Napoli would want to sign a striker in January even if Manolo Gabbiadini doesn’t leave the club.
Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has apparently given the green light to the signing of Zaza or Pavoletti, and a Hammers exit is starting to look like the best solution for all involved.
