Rennes midfielder James Léa-Siliki prefers a move to Watford this month, but the Hornets are yet to reach an agreement with the Ligue 1 side.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the 24-year-old is available on loan with an option to buy included.
They report that Siliki has numerous suitors this month, with Norwich, Genoa and Anderlecht all keen on a move for the 24-year-old.
The Italian side and Championship leaders are said to have made an ‘interesting offer’ but at the moment are yet to reach an agreement with Rennes for the midfielder.
He would, in fact, prefer a move to Watford, as that is his ‘preferential wish’, but they are yet to come to an agreement to make a transfer happen.
His stance on Genoa and Norwich isn’t mentioned, but it is made clear he doesn’t want the move to Belgium with Anderlecht, as he is not ‘not attracted’ by that.
That means Watford have one less competitor for his signature, although they may want to try and get a deal done sooner rather than later with the others still very much in the race.
