Torino star Andrea Belotti has been in outstanding form for his club and country this season. The 22-year-old has eight goals and three assists already for Torino this season, and another three goals for Italy.

Earlier reports in the Italian media have suggested Arsenal, West Ham and Leicester City considered signing the Italian forward this summer, but it didn’t materialise for several reasons, including timing.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday, Manchester United are also keen on signing Belotti, and the Premier League giants are keeping close tabs on him.

Torino, however, want to renew Belotti’s current deal, which would make him the highest earner at the club, whilst also adding a release clause of more than €50m for foreign clubs. That’s around £43m, and Italian clubs wouldn’t be able to activate it.

Belotti Gazzetta dello Sport November 17thManchester United’s interest in Belotti perhaps makes a little sense, as the club would want to find a replacement for Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the near future, but it remains to be seen if it’s genuine.

There’s every chance Jose Mourinho has been brought into the story to ‘sex’ it up a little.

The mention in the article is fleeting and yet ‘Mou’ makes the headline, with the added Manchester United interest helping to panic Torino.
