During the summer transfer window, Marcelo Brozovic was repeatedly linked with a move away from Inter Milan. In recent years the club have cashed in on talent, or turfed players out, way too soon, always looking for money to sign the new shiny player that will be the answer to all Inter’s problems.
Footballers such as Philippe Coutinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Mateo Kovacic have all left Inter in recent season, and Brozovic was all set to be another one.
The Croatian midfielder was pretty much available during the summer transfer window, reported the Italian media, but nobody strongly came in. He then fell out with new manager Frank De Boer and an exit looked likely, but then the Dutch coach was fired.
Now Croatian newspaper Vecernji List report Brozvic is on the verge of signing a new Inter contract. The Italian club have been panicked as interest has increased.
Vecernji List report ‘The intention of Chelsea is clear’ and say the club would be prepared to spend €25m on the player. Brozovic would be a great recruit for Antonio Conte and, even if he signs a new deal, Chelsea shouldn’t give up.
Inter are prone to the odd idiotic transfer moment, so it’s very much worth testing the water.
