France national team boss Didier Deschamps is set to announce his squad for the upcoming matches against Sweden and Ivory Coast on Thursday.
Reports in France suggest a couple of Premier League stars could miss out, with one of them being Crystal Palace star Yohan Cabaye. According to RMC Sport, Paris-Saint Germain star Adrien Rabiot could get the nod ahead of Cabaye. The idea is also backed up by French newspaper L’Equipe in their Thursday edition.
It’s been reported Cabaye is appreciated in the France squad, and that Deschamps hasn’t made a decision yet. The 30-year-old has been regularly called up for the France national team, and was also the part of the Euro 2016 squad in France, but made just two appearances.
Cabaye found the back of the net against Leicester City for Crystal Palace, but could certainly make a bigger impact for his club. The whole point of Cabaye moving from PSG to Crystal Palace was to be a prominent player and impress Deschamps.
Cabaye has started four Premier League games for Crystal Palace so far this season, making a further four substitute appearances.
